At the conclusion of our study of the Book of Hebrews, we will turn to the Old Testament historical Book of Judges. The last verse of the book reads as follows:
“In those days there was no king in Israel;
Everyone did what was right in his own eyes.” – Judges 21:25
This theme is repeated throughout the book, which gives accounts of the conquest of Canaan, the prophetess Deborah, the timid warrior Gideon and his band of 300 men, the mighty Samson and his femme fatale Delilah, and the odd story of the ravished concubine. It is a fascinating look into the history of Israel after the death of Joshua up to the time of Saul’s rule – during the late bronze age, circa 1000 B.C. Until then, join us online for our Hebrews study and lively Q&A on Monday nights at 8pm CST.
